A Closer Look at the Buick Regal TourX

While the crossover SUV might be the most popular body style on the market, that doesn't prevent forward-thinking automakers from offering other options. Such is the case with the Buick Regal TourX - a low-slung, luxury-themed wagon that competes with the likes of Volvo and Audi. However, it provides more than just a wagon-load of comfort and style. It's also off-road capable.

Introduction

The Buick Regal TourX was first introduced to the world back in 2018. It offered 21 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, as well as the ability to seat five people. It was also available in the base TourX trim, Preferred trim, and Essence trim, each of which brought additional niceties to the table. The 2019 model remained mostly unchanged, and the latest model features the same trim levels, upgrades, and features as the previous generations.

Key Features of Note

With a vehicle as exceptionally well-designed as the Buick Regal TourX, it's challenging to choose just a handful of features to define as notable. The vehicle's overall style is definitely one - the aggressive stance coupled with the wagon-inspired body, the larger wheels and tires, and the rugged roof rack all speak to this car's unique heritage and design. The automaker wanted to create something as comfortable and confident off-road as it was on the road, and Buick certainly succeeded.

However, some high points should be pointed out simply because they make the car. One of those is the outstanding cargo capacity. In most cases, a wagon-format body offers slightly less cargo capacity than a traditional SUV, but the Tour X provides 32.7 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up. Lower them, and you get 73.5 cubic feet.

To support go-anywhere performance, Buick offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine pumping out 250 HP. Fuel economy remains relatively good for this class of car, as well.

Another important feature here is the sophisticated all-wheel-drive system installed in the car. It is far superior to most other AWD options on the market and gives Volvo and Audi a run for their money. Buyers will also find a long list of additional features that make the TourX stand out from the competitors, including a push-button start system and keyless entry, standard fog lights, and 18-inch wheels. Note that all-wheel drive is standard on all models regardless of trim level. All models also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, come with a high-end Bose sound system, and a built-in Wi-Fi hot spot for on-the-go connectivity.

Conclusion

The Buick Regal TourX was initially designed to provide more than just a luxury driving experience - it offered a poised, confident ride capable of going just about anywhere. That remains true with today's model.

Of course, experiencing the TourX for yourself is the best way to appreciate everything this vehicle offers. We invite you to visit CMA's Colonial Auto Center today.
