  • So far so good!

Ive owned a few other trucks prior to this 2016 Denali Dually Duramax. Dodge was horrible for quality and service. I traded in my 2008 Silverado Crew 6.0 gas for this Duramax and had not one issue with that Silverado. The only thing thus far is the stereo can be a little glitchy and sometimes the steering wheel buttons dont work, but after talking with the dealer they did say theyve had some issues with it and theyll reprogram it when I go in for my first service. Not worried about it at all, GM has been great in the past about fixing issues unlike Dodge and sometimes Ford. The other issue to keep this truck from getting a 10 rating across the board is the vibration from the pedal. Seems like this should be an easy fix for GM engineers. Id also like the option of having 4.10 gears. In hilly regions it helps to not have to push the pedal and let off as you drive so much with these 3.73 gears. Since this truck has the Gooseneck / 5th wheel hitch factory installed, Id like to have the camera to see the hitch since we hook the gooseneck up several times per week and it gets to be a real pain getting in and out trying to line up the ball you cant see. Lastly, I really wished theyd give us some real AT or off road type tires. These ATs they give as an option are really more like radials for on road. Im a farmer and will be using this truck in the fields and these are not a good off road tire. Id opt for a Reaper except towing my tractors and hay from one field to the farm would be too much for a 1/2 ton truck, so I opted for this 3500 but now need to spend additional money on better tires. Overall Id recommend this truck to others without a doubt.

I use my 3500HD diesel/Allison to pull my 12,000 lb bumper pull trailer with a 1,000 Harley in the bed. It does it with ease. Transmission is smooth and the suspension feels like it's not even hauling the load. Love the interior setup for long trips. The tow package mirrors give me fantastic visibility especially when I want to watch the trailer tires on tight turns. The 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver gives me an added feel of security. I've gotten up to 24MPG when not towing.

I love this truck. I had 1 warranty issue at 5k miles. The steering gear failed - this was not the first truck that had this problem at my dealer. Dealer had the truck for 6 days waiting for new part. Only other con is 70k sticker price. Duramax/Allison combo is amazing. Lots of engine/trans braking features. Just great for towing. I pull a 6,000 lb. snowmobile trailer. Plug in the cruise at 70 - RPMs lock in, trans never shifts on highway grades. Truck is super quiet and comfortable. Love the crew cab and long box - room for your crew/gear. It is a bull! Id buy it again without a doubt.
